December 24

Dear Ma,

Here it is Christmas Eve, but it don’t seem like it to me. Guess it does at home with all the snow.

Didn’t get any letter from either you or Beryle again today an it makes me kind of dissapointed. This makes five days without hearing. That’s the longest it has ever been except when I came across. Maybe Santa Claus will bring me some tomorrow.

Went to town today an met up with Kenny an we had a wonderful time. Sure seemed good to see him for I always did like him even though he couldn’t be trusted. He looks the same to me as he did a year and a half ago. We went to a show and then came here to the barracks an visited for awhile. He is located about three miles from where I am at, but only gets liberty on Sunday so I won’t get to see him very often. He was anxious to hear what I knew about Buck.

I did get a Christmas card today from Mr & Mrs Leslie Vickers an son. Seems like Christmas cards are the only things that get through lately.

Guess I will close now an go take a shower.

Love
Howard
