Dear Ma,
I just finished taking a shower an I feel a lot more like writing than I did. Not so tired tonight as I usually am but still tired enough. Went down to see Francis this afternoon an we spent the rest of the day visiting. For some reason his papers don’t come through very good so he has to read mine.
I got two packages today. One from you and Beryle. Both of them came through with out being hurt a bit. I will have plenty of candy to eat for a few days. Also got a letter from you and one from Wendell. Buck said that he had met up with Pat a they had a real long visit. Said he looked fine an at guess they were both pretty pleased to meet somebody from home. Sure wish I could have gotten to seen Pat.
Wendell said for me to get Kennys address for he expected him to come here unless I am able to get his address a send it to me a maybe I will get to see him.
I have seen a lot of flowers here an they are real beautiful. A lot different then the ones at home.
It is nice that you sent a package to Roger Dates for I don’t imagine he will get any to many. all the boys like to be remembered at Christmas time I think.
I am glad that Brownie came out of her accident with nothing more than a scar on her hip. Sure would of been too bad if she had of gotten killed. Sure glad Aunt Mary found her calves for it would of been to bad if she had of lost them.
Must of been quite a surprise to hear an itemized account read of the picnic. That’s some thing that never happened before.
Its to bad that Delbert and John are having trouble but it is nothing new for John. Delbert does have some bad faults but I will give him credit for he is behind the home boys a hundred per cent. It isn’t every postmaster that would do things like he does. Fannie is probably so nervous and worked up all the time that she doesn’t know what she is doing. She really has had quite a strain on her.
You hadn’t told me about Mrs Bigger coming back into Co-workers. Guess she isn’t so religious now that the dictator is gone.
I don’t think Harry Woodcock should have a box from home either an I think it is a good thing somebody stopped it. There sure are a lot of complications when you start something like that isn’t there.
Well ma guess I will close now an write a few lines to Beryle.
Love
Howard
Thanks for the box.
