Dear Ma,
Haven’t did much today but lay around. Went down to see Wendell this morning but he is gone or at least I think he is. Really was disappointed for I expected to have a good visit with him. I got two letters today. Yours is a day ahead of Beryle’s now. Was the other way around for awhile. I had some trouble with the brakes on aften fluid has been put in them it ought to last quite awhile. Should have Junior fix them up right if he ever got time. It’s to bad it had to rain so much. Sure wish I could get out in one of those rains. Don’t imagine Art and Marjorie will be going house keeping for I understood he was going across.
It’s sure funny how it changed from deaths at home to weddings. Guess they figured they had better get together an try an keep the population evened up.
It was nice of Mona and Charles to offer to take Rena May in bad weather but I think we treated them pretty good by taking there kids. They say a good deed is always returned an that could be a case. Wonder how many people have went down over that bank there by Moore and not got killed. Sure has been a lot of wrecks there. I really was shocked to hear of Bill Treloar dropping dead. Really had to read that twice before I could believe it. It sure was to bad for he was such a nice fellow.
I knew that Glenda Mae ran around a lot. Couldn’t expect nothing else of her with a mother like she has got. That’s what I tried to tell you when I mention those people. You know what Florence told you. The reason we didn’t go any farther than here was that we got orders to get off here. Nothing at all happened to the ship.
Well ma guess I will close for tonight an write Bootys a few lines. Wrote a letter to Bootys and Junior this afternoon.
Love
Howard
