Dear Ma,
It’s hard to believe but I am finally back in the states even though it is California. Arrived in here about ten o’clock yesterday and they kept us so busy the rest of the day that I didn’t get a chance to write. Had to stand in line three hours just to ship home a suit case full of clothes. Sent my rain coat home yesterday for it was a very nice day, but today it is raining and gloomy out. Am quite thankful that it was nice yesterday though.
Took us six days to come from Pearl Harbor here. The first night out we hit rough sea and everybody got sea sick. After that it was real calm all the rest of the way. The only good thing about the ship we came back on was it had good drinking water.
Have hopes of getting out of here tomorrow but don’t have any definite ideas. Should be home in about another ten days though.
Several of us from where I was stationed came all the way together so we had a pretty good time.
You had better get that blue pair of pants I have at home out and cleaned up for the ones I have with me are shot and will be a real mess by the time I get home.
Well ma I don’t know any news so I will close now.
