Dear Ma,
Just came back from having supper an it sure was good. One of the best meals I have ate since I came in the Navy. Thats one thing I won’t have to worry about on my job. Have a hard time mailing letters now for where I am at is a new place a they haven’t a mail system started yet. Probably will by next week. I mail my letters now when I go to chow, for that is right down in the main district. I worked today helping clean up the mess hall. Counted plates, cups, trays and etc. Worked hard but I think it is going to be alright.
Am anxious to get a liberty here so I can go out an see the Country a bit. Like it pretty good so far. Really don’t know much to write about tonight for I didn’t get any mail today an it is pretty hard to write when you don’t get a letter. Think I will go an take a shower an then wash some clothes.

Its funny how it gets dark here for it is light an in about five minutes it is pitch dark. Same way with it getting light.
