August 27, 1944
Dear Ma,
Don’t know much to write about tonight for I didn’t get any mail again today. Have a Liberty tomorrow and think I will go over to the Camp I came from and see if there is any over there. Have another change to make in my address tonight so you can see how mixed up it is. I worked real hard today, but have tomorrow off so that makes up for it. Seem to have a nice bunch of fellows to work with. Three of them haven’t been to the States in over two years and one of them hasn’t seen his mother for four years. I am afraid I will get pretty fat on this job for I can eat anytime.
Sure had some good baked stuff today. Don’t know anymore to write about tonight so I will close for now.
