Dear Ma,

Finished work early today so I thought I would write you now so I can mail it when I go to supper. Tomorrow is suppose to be the big opening of the new mess hall. The way I understand it I have to work every other day helping the regular cooks after so long so I am suppose to be a cook. Don’t know whether I will make it or not but it is worth a trial.

Didn’t get any mail today for it hasn’t all been transfered from the other camp yet.

Bought myself a sewing kit today an am figuring on doing a little sewing one of these days. Have a few buttons to sew on.

My address is changed now to what it is suppose to be for awhile. The box number now is 48. Have the papers changed to this.

Well ma guess I will close now an write Beryle a few lines.

Love
Howard
