Dear Ma,
Don’t know much news tonight but will write you a few lines. Didn’t have to work today as I got all of my washing done. Went and bought some more work clothes too. Shouldn’t need any for quite awhile now unless I do some. That’s easy enough to do. It is sure a hard job to get a person clothes clean here for the wind blows them full of dirt before they are dry.
They opened up a new mess hall here today and the eats at that are a little better. Don’t have to stand in line as long either.
Suppose I will be put on a working detail again tomorrow. One thing you usually have a different job each time. Wendell was out helping plant flowers today.
Went and got my hair cut today and it sure needed it. Got a real good hair cut for a quarter. Well ma I guess I will close for tonight and get cleaned up.
Love Howard
