Dear Ma,
Well we have finally stopped at last. We got here to Shoemaker, California last night. Didn’t have time to write last, but will drop you a few lines and my address this morning.
I really enjoyed the trip out here an will tell you something about it when I have time.
The fellows that are here say this is a real nice place, but a person won’t be here to long.
I got my old pal as my bunk partner so I am satisfied.
None of the local fellows are in this barracks, but are right here in the same locality.
All around this Camp a person can see the mountains. It is real cold here an is nothing like I expected California to be.
This Camp is located about 35 miles from San Francisco so you can see where we are on the map. It is south from there.
Well ma I had better close now an I will write more tonight.
