Dear Ma,
Guess you will be surprised to hear from me this soon after I told you you wouldn’t hear for a month.
* I am at now, but * here. Don’t know where we are going but we are still all together. Haven’t got sea sick yet but felt kind of funny the first couple of days. The eats so far have been as good or better than what we had on land. We are able to buy Candy, ice cream, and Coca Cola. Yes we don’t take any hurt.
So far I have really enjoyed doing what I always wanted to.
The weather is quite hot, but will probably get hotter. Guess it is pretty hot back home now too. Don’t be a bit surprised if it’s another month before you hear from me. Might be sooner or it might be longer but there is no reason to worry for all the Japs are over trying to take care of their own home land now.
Well ma I will close for this time for there isn’t much I can write outside of telling you I am fine and we are all together!
Love Howard
You needn’t write until you get my new address.
