August 28, 1944
Dear Ma,
Just finished taking a shower and I sure feel a lot better. Have been pretty busy tonight doing some Carpenter work on my locker. Put some more shelves in it and fixed it up real good. Have some room left over now.
Went over to the camp I came from and saw most of my old Company. I didn’t get to see Donnie Murray or Wendell for they were out on a working detail. Maybe get to see them the next time I go over. On the way back I ran into Francis so we visited for the afternoon. He didn’t get the truck driving job like was supposed to and is working in a mess hall.
He hasn’t got as good a job as I have for he only gets liberty every fourth day. Found out where Harold Parsay is. He is going to Radio School at another Camp right near here. He only gets off on Sundays so we will have to arrange a get together. Didn’t get any mail today, but neither does anybody else. Got another change to make in my address again tonight. Well ma guess that I will close for tonight.
