Dear Ma,

Have a few minutes off this afternoon so I will start you a letter. Didn’t write last night for it was late when I got back from liberty an I didn’t have any mail. Did better this noon by getting a letter from both you and Beryle.

I haven’t been going to church very much for I haven’t had the time when I was working. Now that I am not working I figure on going a little more often.

I am glad to hear that Harold Magee is getting home. Sure hope that it helps his mother. Really doesn’t take the Red Cross long to get people home if they contact them right. The only way to do it is contact the Red Cross at home for the person in the service can’t do much about it.

Harold was an M.P. guarding B 29s. That M.P. duty is really a racket.

I never noticed much who that boy of Catherine & Naya looked like. I know one thing he was pretty well spoiled.

I don’t think that Ernest needs worry about the money he is losing in the army, for there is a lot of fellows that are losing more than that. He had better consider how lucky he was to stay in the states.

Seems like the younger generation around home is getting to be like the people here. The only difference here

I think the climate is more suited for them to dress that way.

It really is to bad that Jeanette Sook is throwing her life away like she is for she is nice looking an had the opportunity to get ahead. Guess she is just like her mother. That letter Orthelle wrote was very interesting. I really don’t think there will be so terrible much change in him only he will be more serious. From the way I read his letter I thought he had enough points for a discharge, but wouldn’t he be able to on account of being in the medical corp.

Don’t know anything more so I will close now.

Love
Howard
