Dear Ma,
Didn’t get any mail at all today so I haven’t much to write about. Seemed like none of the fellows get much today. Thought sure I would get a letter telling me that I had a new relative.
Things have been just the same here as they have been. Took a lot of men out of here today but they missed us again.
I am down visiting Donnie and Francis tonight. Go around on visit them all every day.
Played horse shoes all morning and only lost one game. Had a real good partner. Mary Margaret said that Willie Bennett was in France. I wrote to Willard and Orthelle yesterday. Haven’t got Pauls and Willis address.
The war news looked better again tonight. Sure am glad they are able to bomb Japan now. In boot camp I didn’t hear a word about it, but here I hear it discussed up and down.
Well ma I don’t know much news tonight so I will close. Just wanted to let you know that I was still here.
Love
Howard
