Dear Ma,
Here it is Sunday afternoon an I just finished washing. Thats the last washing I intend to do before I come home. also the last letter. It sure is a swell drying day. Don’t figure on washing clothes next Sunday.
Got your box today an sure was surprised. The fellows all said to thank you for the candy. all the stuff was alright. The peanuts are pretty stale though. The bananas are still green. Haven’t got any place to keep them so will eat them anyway. anything like that tastes good.
Got a letter from you and Beryle today. Sure am glad that storm didn’t hit near home. Must of been pretty wild out at Aunt Katies too. We got our schedule for Monday an it looks as if we will have a pretty easy day. Shouldn’t have to much to do now.
all the company has to go to an entertainment tonight, but I probably will miss out on account of work detail. I really don’t feel bad about it.
Wendell said that his mother had a letter from Kenny the 29th of May. He told her she might not hear for another month so he probably was in the invasion.
Sure have felt lazy lately. Hate to do anything at all.
Well Ma I guess I will close for now an will be seeing you before long. Better have plenty of good grub on hand an don’t be accepting any invitations out.
Love,
Howard
