Dear Howard,
I am working nights now. And get a chance to write a few letters on duty. So there isn’t so much to do. I will be on nights for a month. I will have 8 hours and know nights off so I won’t have time to run around in. But will be able to spend my check anyhow. The weather is sure warm here now. I guess it is getting a little warm there too by now.
It isn’t so bad at nights here working but it is plenty hard trying to sleep in the daytime. The Major said he was going to have laws put in so maybe it won’t be so bad. Well, how’s everything going in Z.D. and Leadmine. O.K. I suppose they are still running the sawmill. I wouldn’t mind hanging my chin on the bar right now. Some of these taverns here are pretty sloppy places. But will have no trouble getting a drink if I know where. I imagine Bill Hall is running a big business now, I wonder if Harvey gets enough. I bet he is a fine soldier.
I guess he likes it better than I thought he would. But he got in a pretty good outfit. Do you ever see Dave St. around anywhere? I bet that broke his heart when he had to give that up. I hear Stueliens got a Buick 8. I bet they feel pretty good in it and will probably run everybody behaving???
How is everyone over to Leadmine??? Sherry was home yesterday afternoon so we went around the town for awhile. He is working nights too now. Well, Howard, I have just now run out of time & I will close for now.
Ever
Willy
