Dear Ma,
Didn’t work very hard today but am pretty tired tonight. I got two letters from both you and Beryle today so I am doing pretty good lately. I guess William will have a lot of different ideas after having Young around.
Nice that Maggie won the money. I know for sure it won’t be spent foolishly.
Sure must be awful on Lutes not to hear from Gene for that long. Don’t know where on earth he could be that would take him that long before he could write.
Most of the fellows here seemed in favor of Roosevelt, but there were a few that had a different opinion on it resulted in some good hot arguments. Sure had quite a crowd at co-workers. Must be one of the largest you have had for a long time. I wouldn’t mind having some chicken pie myself. All the chickens I have saw besides the ones we cook is one a fellow that lives near here has for a pet.
Say ma how young do you think I am? I knew Pete B. really well and would recognize him most anyplace if I saw him. That would be a pretty hard job here for all a person sees is service men.
Don’t take Mrs. Booty long to get over her her aches and pains when there is a chance of going someplace. Can’t blame her for wanting to go and see them before they move.
The war news looks pretty good today and maybe it will be over before long. I think it all will be over by spring.
Well ma I will close now for tonight for I am pretty tired.
Love
Howard
