Dear Ma, Just finished writing to Beryle and will write you a few lines now. I got three letters today as I am satisfied. I got one from you, Rina May and Beryle.
I guess that Dilly will be pretty happy when she has a day of school off. I know I always was.
I don’t know just what I will do with all my stuff either for the ants will pack all the sweet stuff away. I guess me and my working buddies will just have to eat it up right away. The army and Marine men must use colored Handkerchiefs for all the Navy men have white ones. They are real nice ones and cheap too.
Can’t blame Marjorie for feeling sad with her husband going out of the states so soon. I see a lot of little kids here. Both native and white ones. There is a school about two blocks from where I am stationed. I am right in a Civilian District and that is the reason.
The programs we hear on the radio here are just about the same as at home. Right now Gracie Allen is on.
Well ma I will close for tonight before the lights go out in just a minute.
Love
Howard
