Dear Howard
This is Sunday here, and I am all cooped up in the hospital. This makes the third Sunday in here. So you might know I am getting tire of it. I have no idea when I’ll be able to get out of here. But I hope some body gets the notion pretty soon.
How is everything coming along on the home front. I things are sure dead back there. But I found plenty of places to put my time in while I was back there. But was just about ready to come back when it came time.
I have been transfered in to this Detachment as my Company left for overseas while I was in the hospital. There is supposed to be some Wacs come in here to replace the ones in general service and we are supposed to get shipped out of here. Gee, I hope that is the truth. This is a lousy place here. I wish I could get assigned to an other overseas outfit. But I have a chance of staying in the states for the duration. But I am looking forward to being the other side before this war is over.
I guess my Company was going to the embarkation Camp in California. I sure wish I had a chance to see Buch as they were going to Pittsburg but much is in Fort I & I & I guess it is’nt so far between them both. I dont know if I’ll be able to get a pass to go down to see Willad or not. My San Antonio buddie he wants me to take one with him whether they want us to or not. He takes off when ever he feels like it. There’s only been in the guard house three times. and he is all set to take off again. He’s a say he just would stay in this camp.
I got a letter from Doris Thompson yesterday and she said “Crowbar” is supposed to go to Milwaukee to-morrow the 4th of Octobu, so he may be a soldier soon. The old gang seems to get smaller & smaller. The women are plentiful back there but I guess just occupies the seat of that Ford himself. if he isn’t so dam foolish he would get along better.
Well, Howard I just can’t think of anything to write so I better close for now. Hoping to hear from you soon. Some of that old home news is what I am interesed in. Will close.
