Dear Ma,
I only got one letter today but it was one that you wrote. You have been able to make your letters pretty long lately. There isn’t to much I can write about from here for what I would like to tell you about would be censored out. It would be nice if Walter Gilbert did teach the first semester. Maybe with some luck they could pick up a teacher by then. I sure was surprised at Emily going back to Arizona. Thought that her teaching days were over. You did pretty well in the line of company Sunday. Seems like they all come at once. I guess Dilly would be pretty tired that night.
Wonder just what the reason was for Mrs Hall not coming. Hope that you get to see Arthur. You are right when you say that Sonia is the only boy left home. You sure will be in bad if Nellie hears about you coming out of Ediths and then something big happening. Maybe Edith will put something over on Nellie yet. I really wish that somebody would settle up those things. What I said in my letter that you wanted to know about. You know what we are fighting don’t you. Sure will seem funny to all those boys to get a bunch of letters all at once when they aren’t expecting it. If you have Jeans’ address send it to me. Maybe Willie won’t get to Lake Geneva yet. Well ma I will close for tonight
Love
Howard
